Annual Wage Review Decision 2013
The Fair Work Commission yesterday handed down its 2013 Annual Wage Review Decision, which can be summarised as follows:
- All Modern Award rates of pay are to be increased by 2.6%, effective from the first full pay period commencing on or after Monday 1 July 2013.
- This wage increase can be absorbed into any existing over award payments (check the absorption clause in your Modern Awards - usually this is in clause 2.2 or there about).
- If you are transitioning rates of pay to the Modern Award, an employee’s new minimum rate is his or her new Modern Award rate 'plus or minus' 20% of the transitional amount.
- Award free casual employees – the default casual loading will increase from 23% to 24%, effective from the first full pay period commencing on or after Monday 1 July 2013.
