What is Community Service Leave?

Community service leave is an employment entitlement that allows most employees to take leave for 'community service' activities such as jury service and voluntary emergency management activities.  If an employee (other than a casual employee) has been called up for jury service, they may take that period as Community Service Leave.

In some circumstances, an employer may have to pay an employee their wages, or 'top up' an employee's pay, whilst they are on jury service, for a maximum of ten (10) days.
