National Minimum Wage Review
On Wednesday 15 June 2022, the Commission handed down its 2022 Annual Wage Review Decision, which will see:
- the National Minimum Wage increase by 5.2% to $812.60 per week or $21.38 per hour (being a $40.00 per week increase)
- minimum adult award rates of $869.60 per week or below will increase by $40.00 per week
- minimum adult award rates of above $869.60 per week will increase by 4.6%
For most employers, the above increases will take effect on the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2022. However, for employers in hospitality / registered clubs indutries, and restaurants, the above increases will instead take effect on the first full pay period on or after 1 October 2022.
Superannuation Guarantee Rate Increase
On and from 1 July 2022, the Superannuation Guarantee Rate will increase to 10.5% from its current rate of 10%.
The Rate is scheduled to increase 0.5% each year until July 2025 when it will reach 12%.
